EU chief warns China on “any unilateral change” of Taiwan status quo

The President of the European Commission this morning again warned China not to make any moves on Taiwan especially by military force. Ursula von der Leyen made the comments during a debate in the European Parliament in Strasbourg on the EU’s China Policy.

MEPs have been discussing the European Union’s response to the growing global challenges stemming from a more assertive China. President von der Leyen’s remarks followed her recent trip to China with the French president Emmanuel Macron.
