Will EU sanction violent settlers?

The EU looks set to finally impose sanctions on Israeli settlers committing violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The sanctions have been blocked by Hungary, but with Viktor Orban out of power, EU foreign ministers meeting in Brussels today are expected to give their unanimous consent. Speaking from Brussels this morning, Ireland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Helen McEntee, said the European Union needs to take action to uphold international law including by suspending the EU-Israel trade deal.
